The 2017/2018 school year will be here before you know it! Join us on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Rufus Jones conference room at the Friends Center, 1501 Cherry Street, for a “Back to School” daytime workshop with EDM Amy Eisen and CASA EDM staff. Learn tips from Ms. Eisen that will help your kids at the start of the school year. Get an overview of relevant forms and documents, including a review of legal deadlines for evaluations, re-evaluations, and IEP's. We will also have an update on our CASA/EDM program and our annual Cradles to Crayons backpack pick-up.
Ms. Amy Eisen has been serving students with special needs, their families and teachers for over 35 years. Her professional background includes pediatric occupational therapist, certified school psychologist and, most recently, school administrator.
Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play. This year marks the 10th anniversary of their "Backpack-a-thon." Items like backpacks, art supplies, writing tools, and back-to-school clothing & shoes are imperative to help get children mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared for school.
You will earn 4 in-service training credits for attending this workshop.
Lunch will be served.
Please RSVP by August 2, 2017 to Program Director Cynthia Mason at: email@example.com
